About a month ago, we sent Nacho with his handler, Kacie Davis Jordan, to West Palm Beach, FL for a show. Nacho has never been a fan of flying, and after air travel he can sometimes be a little stiff.
When they arrived, Kacie noticed he seemed unusually tight. After his first show she called and told us that he kept doing a strange little stretching motion, and she couldn’t figure out what was bothering him.
The friend Kacie was staying with happened to have a Spectra Laser Wrap vest that she used on her dogs. She asked Kacie if she wanted to try it on Nacho, and she thought, “Why not? It’s certainly worth a try.”
Kacie wrapped Nacho in the vest and sat with him while he received the treatment before going back into the ring that afternoon. When she called that afternoon she said the change was nothing short of remarkable. The stretching had completely disappeared, he was moving freely, and he looked relaxed, comfortable, and happy. It was obvious he was no longer experiencing the stiffness that had been affecting him earlier that day.
Afterward, Kacie called us and said, “You’re not going to believe the difference this vest made. We have to get one for Nacho.” She was so impressed with the results that she continued using it on him throughout the remainder of the trip.
The following day, respected professional handler Taylor Barnes noticed Kacie sitting with Nacho wrapped in the vest that was made for a larger dog. She asked Kacie if it was helping him. Kacie shared what had happened the day before and how dramatically his movement had improved after using it. Taylor helped us get Nacho in to the perfect size coat and told us she had to share his story.
Seeing such a dramatic difference in Nacho’s comfort and movement after just one treatment convinced us that this was something we wanted to incorporate into his care. For a dog that competes at the highest level, anything that helps him feel his best is well worth considering. This pampered boy loves his vest! He will stretch out and take a nice relaxing nap while his vest goes to work!
